The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) began its modest origins in the United States in 1971, and has since expanded to include more than 35,000 members in almost 400 chapters throughout North America, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. NSBE’s mission statement is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. Following this statement, one of NSBE’s main objectives is to expose and encourage minority students to consider engineering as a career and to provide assistance and guidance along the academic journey.
One of the highlights of this year will be our annual National Convention, which is held in a new and exciting city every year. At this event, as well as at many others, members have many opportunities to interact with students like themselves and with many industry professionals from across the globe. Many of our members have been able to impress recruiters who attend NSBE career fairs at National Convention and events throughout the year. This year our Chapter will be hosting many professional and academic workshops and seminars which members are encouraged to attend to gain valuable knowledge and consciously fine-tune their skill sets.
Our team is ready and very motivated to make your stay and Concordia University worthwhile and memorable.
